Signs of Colon Cancer

What is actually colon cancer? Generally, it is one of conditions what we call as colorectal cancer, which is the term used to describe a cancer that affects two important organs of our digestive tract system that are colon and rectum. As the name implies, cancer that starts in the rectum is familiar known as rectal cancer, and cancer that develops for the first time in the colon is familiar called as colon cancer. The next question, what are signs of colon cancer?
Many experts believe that the abnormal cells that line the rectum or colon is one of the keys which in the cause of colorectal cancer. In people with this cancer, these cells usually grow out of control which eventually will create what we call as tumor.

Colon


It is a muscular tube that connects the rectum and small intestine. The part of colon that is close to the rectum is also familiar known as the large intestine, which has function to modify stool become solid stool by removing water from the stool. So it has vital function for processing waste.


Rectum


It is a kind of chamber connecting the anus and the large intestine (colon). The stool in the colon then will be pushed into rectum, and after receiving the stool in the rectum then you will feel that there is stool that must be evacuated.


Signs of colon cancer


At early stage, people with colorectal cancer (either colon or rectum cancer) may not have any symptoms. If the signs are present, (in many cases) they may include:

  1. Changes or problems in bowel movements, which may include rectal bleeding, rectal cramping, discomfort feeling that represents inability to completely empty the bowel, and persistent diarrhea or constipation.
  2. Blood with dark patches on or in stool. Some patients may also experience thin or long stools.
  3. Discomfort feeling in abdominal, like bloating.
  4. Then patients may also experience weight loss problems and fatigue with unknown reasons! They may also get loss of appetite.
  5. And even at later stages, patient usually will experience pelvic pain.

We all agree that all diseases if they are found early then will be so helpful for the successful of the treatment. Therefore, if you experience these signs, don?t choose ?watchful waiting? to see your doctor, particularly if you also experience anemia (this may be caused by the signs of your colon cancer).


And don?t forget to avoid jumping directly to your conclusion. Talk with your doctor to get clearly diagnosis and more detailed information about signs of colon cancer. Moreover, there may be some of your symptoms that may be caused by other conditions.
