Educational Technology Guy: Adobe announces Acrobat XI with ...

Adobe has just announced the newest version of Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat XI, with some great new features. It also has cloud services that make using it more?efficient?and effective, especially in the education area. It's easy to use and learn and a great resource for education. Students can use it for e-portfolios, along with other projects, and educators can use it to create course materials.

Some of the new features include integrated cloud services and eSignature services, providing e-document services to help reduce paper and improve efficiency, improved importing and editing of PDF files, integration with Microsoft Office environments for IT deployment and maintenance, and improve mobile?functionality?for iOS, Android and Windows 8.

The Student and Teacher Edition of AXI is immediately available for $119 through the Adobe Education Store. Teacher resources ? including step-by-step tutorials and ready-to-use lessons for incorporating the software into classroom learning ? are now available online at the free Adobe Education Exchange.

Also, last week Adobe introduced Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 & Adobe Premiere Elements 11, photo and video editing tools that help K-12 educators teach 21st century literacy, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills across curriculum. Please check out the Adobe blog for more information.

While not free, these are excellent resources for education and well worth the money.
