THE Alhambra Theatre and Maggie's Fife are teaming up to launch a new partnership this Christmas.
Stars of 'Cinderella' are helping the Kingdom's only dedicated cancer support centre with a special night of fund-raising on Wednesday 19th December - the panto's VIP performance.
The event will also mark the launch of a new partnership between the Dunfermline theatre and the Kirkcaldy-based organisation which supports people from across Fife living with cancer.
The panto's stars - including Emma Soraya Beard, Colin McCredie of 'Taggart' and Jane McCarry of 'Still Game' - will back the collection from the stage, encouraging patrons to dig deep and give generously for the centre, which was opened in 2006.
Maggie's Fife will also put leaflets on all seats informing people of the vital work done by the centre.
Members of the new associate fund-raising board launched this month by Maggie's Fife will be present to talk about the centre's work and there will be posters and pop-up boards in the foyer.
Dr Bob Grant, chairman of the Maggie's Fife Associate Fund-raising Board, thanked the Alhambra, "This will really help raise awareness and funds for those who benefit from the support offered at Maggie's Fife.
"It is wonderful to have the magic of theatre supporting such a worthy cause."
Tu Edwards, community fund-raiser for Maggie's Fife and Forth Valley, said, "Maggie's Fife is delighted that we will be working in partnership with the Alhambra Theatre.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to connect communities across Fife. I am very pleased we will be able to take forward a long- term partnership to make a difference to those affected by cancer."
Claire Fletcher, PR manager for the Alhambra Theatre, added, "We are delighted to be teaming up with Maggie's Fife.
"We are very proud to support such a fantastic organisation as Maggie's and help raise awareness and funds for the care centre."
