As a follow-up to his proposal for campaign finance transparency, Assembly GOP Leader Pat Hickey has sent a letter to all of his colleagues and all legislative candidates asking for a bipartisan commitment to the reforms early in the 2013 session.
Aside from a few minor errors -- "Capitol" for "capital," for instance -- it's a good letter (posted at right) and one that should result in immediate embrace by Democrats and Republicans. But -- sorry for my cynicism -- I doubt it will because too many folks in both parties benefit from the system as it is. Oh, and these are the same folks who have even held up a tourism contract for partisan reasons.
But I am with Hickey all the way on this and will keep the pressure on.
