Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert extend Comedy Central contracts

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Fear not fake news fans, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be sticking around after the upcoming presidential elections to lampoon pandering politicians and cable news bloviators.

Both men signed two-year contract extensions that will keep them in Comedy Central's late-night roster, the network said Wednesday.

Stewart's new contract will have him behind the desk at "The Daily Show" through 2015. He will remain as the show's executive producer, writer and host.

Colbert's extension will keep him, his pompous on-air alter ego and "The Colbert Report" at Comedy Central through the end of 2014. Colbert serves as executive producer, writer and host for "The Report."

Each program recently racked up four Emmy nominations and consistently performs well in the key advertising demographic of adults between the ages of 18 to 49.
